The brief for this project was for a contemporary, multi functional living area where the clients could relax in front of the fire, watch a movie on the big screen, practise music or just hang out. And plenty of storage.
In order to create a more streamlined look, I designed a custom wall unit that would surround the window and the sideboard, house the wall mounted movie screen as well as providing ample space for books, instruments and accessories. The asymmetry of the shelves adds pattern and visual interest to the room.
The royal blue Chauffeuse armchairs add a jolt of rich colour to the neutral palette of the Miloe sectional sofa and the area rug. The contrasting materials of the solid wood Oc tables, the steel frame of the van der Rohe inspired lounger and the other elements result in a modern and eclectic mix.
