Elements of a resort style spa bathroom was the wish of these clients wanting to renovate a very dated bathroom as well as modernising the main staircase of the house.
The space in this bathroom was not being maximised and the old tiles and fixtures were in desperate need of an overhaul.
By changing the layout of the bathroom, the sink and vanity are front and center, a floor level, spa like shower and a private area for the WC were created. Reducing contrast by using the same, gray 60 x 60 tiles for the floor and ceiling makes the bathroom not only appear generous, but the dark colour adds to the calming atmosphere.
The original open staircase was seriously lacking in style so the goal was to replace it with a modern version with closed risers.
The dark gray support frame adds an industrial element while the oak stairs add continuity.
