While building a new home in Köpenick in south east Berlin, this young family wanted a very special bathroom to enjoy everyday. The use of beautiful materials, lighting and ample storage were all employed to achieve this goal.
Using natural Travertine stone tiles on both the floors and walls and travertine mosaic tiles as details in the niches adds elegance and beauty. Although natural stone requires a bit more upkeep, the play of light, it’s depth and beauty make it worthwhile and explain it’s use and popularity over the centuries.
Unable to find just the right furniture, I custom designed the integrated bathroom vanity and cabinet using dark stained oak veneer.
